But I'd suggest you to do the following:
Disconnect the calculator
Go to Control Panel --> System
select the hardware tab and then the device manager.
in the device manager the calculator should be listed somewhere (maybe as unknown device or unknown usb device) select it and press the DEL key on your keyboard.
Uninstall FA-124
Install FA-124 again
Plug the calc in.
Maybe it works. Just a question: Do you have any USB devices that do work (with the same port you want to connect the calaculator to)

One more thing...
As I am a noob in this things I wanted to know if is there some programs that I can install in the fx 9860 at the moment, because I read the previous posts but I didn't end up with a clear idea about that. And if there are where can I find them?
Sorry for my poor english...

Look at this:
http://www.casio.edu...ucts/fx9860.htm
I think that you can, coz it have flash memory, used in other models for add-ins. Also the casiobasic programs showed on the animation of that link, seems very similar than the CFX one's, try going to "casio programs avenue" and the CFX section of the "file sharing" (look at the top of this webpage). The better you can do its read the entire topic, maybe there is that information.

There is a link for download the emulator software for the PC, maybe you got it on a CD when you bought your calculator. That emulator must have the option for make programs like if you were using the calculator. The rest its only read the user manual

Good luck.

FX 9860 does use USB instead of the Com Port.
Please read you manual ... there must be a section about transfering programs.
As for executing them:
Go to the Program menu (PRGM on CFX calcs ... don't know for sure for the new ones) and choose the program and type EXE

Indeed it's not the same, it's much easierit is definately NOT the same procedure as for the AFX sine the

Search the forum. There was a post on how to do this.
(btw. what is the result ?if you download the program from RAM instead of flash?)
I downloaded you file. It contains the commands.
They are preceded by a headder and the actual commands are translated to one char (this is how the calc stores them). I think the fxi files for the AFX/CFX have a similar format.
if you look closely you can see the text "First number" at the end of the file.
it's just like OpenDocument Text Documents or word documents are not plain text. You also don't type the commands but select a token don't you. So there is no "text" there actually.

.-9860gsd can use the SD card as a RAM memory??, this is, store matrix, list, variables, programs????
64 kb of ram is a misery! (i`m using 60 kb now on my AFX2.0+

.-can I execute progs from SD card?
.-Where are storaged 160 lists of 999 elements (!!!!!!!!!???????????!!!!!!!!!!), I know that any number on a list or matrix has a weight of 9 bytes (on AFX)

.-this version of casio basic is better than AFX basic, more faster, or more powerful?
.- casio think about release CAS and ALGEBRA for this toy??(with Santa?s

thanks to all
P.D: (Casio pardon me for this).....anyone have a link to get "on loan", the 9860 emulator, i want to buy the calc, but first i want to test it!

i have an FXI file, i tested it, doesn't work still, i know because i upload to the Flash and it gives me an error when i try to copy it to RAM "Invalid Format", but the file i posted here can be uploaded, downloaded, copied, anything.
i saw what u mean

i think i select the command actually, but still don't fully understand what u mean, what's the difference.
where can i find that converter please?
@AFX ...
here's the file u want, although my conciousness is killing me

EDIT:I have found out how to convert, thanks.

You must DIRECTLY install them to ram. The flash is (on the AFX) a DOS file system while the RAM is a custom casio file sysetm. Basically the 2 filesystems can not be exchanged.
But this is only what I know from the AFX, This might as well be invalid for the FX 9860.

i have already posted a tutorial on how to manage programs in 9860G downloaded from the Internet, it's in the G1M->FXI conversion thread, when someone learns something he should teach it to others

btw, anyone know a site similar to that French site someone posted ... "http://www.jeuxcasio.com", but in English please, thanks.

Actually, i'm from Egypt and i got it from USA, Amazon.com, they sent it to NY in 1 day, and then it was shipped to me here, so if u r lucky, u would receive it from 1-2 days, but the only model they have is the one with no SD (i don't think u'll need the SD in the first place).Where can I buy a 9860SD in the US (I live in NJ)??
Or, buy it from Casio.com

I also recommend u to search for AFX 2.0 Plus first.
EDIT: wait a minute, u have TI-89Ti, and u want Casio, r u sane

EDIT2: btw, i have a TI Calc from 1978, it's programmable too, has all the functions of a new Scientific Calc, but very slow, it's my dad's

I've been searching for the AFX2.0+ for years and couldn't find anyone selling it for a reasonable price, and......I like SD

AFX 2.0+: + functions, +progs, ++RAM, -speed,-flash, +CAS
9860g sd: -functions, - - RAM, +flash, +speed, -CAS
AFX WON AGAIN

yes of course man 9860G is better in everything, except ... CAS, which is a huge thing, not to ignore.

BASIC PRograms are executed from the "User Space" of RAM. This is 144KB on the AFX. The remaining 100KB are used for DOS and the programs we can execute. In no way could a complex 3D Game fit in 24KB of RAM (unless we use the newly developed RXE).
For the FX we don't know the actual RAM size since the size you get form casio is always only the size for the user space since you are not supposed to use the rest of the RAM anyways. They could have use a 256KB RAM leaving nearly 200KB for the OS and coding. But then we don't know how bit the OS.
Also what architecture is the TI? Some architectures need less RAM than others ... The AFX has a PC architecture! REmind that!!

I believe that TI uses x86 microprocessor architecture
No. The low end TI's have a Z80 chip in them. The high end ones have a motorola 68000

1. Make a new program on the calc and type your notes in there <----- easiest way
2. Make a new e-activity and type your notes in there <-- 2nd easiest way IMO
3. Download the Text Reader add-in (see the filesharing) and use that to read .txt files from your PC (word files arent supported)
4. Make a new addin and program it to display your notes
5. Download an on-calc BASIC interpreter program and use that to compile programs you write .. in order to display notes.. I think (havent tried)
Theres other ways, though these are probably the best
