J'ai moi m?me tent?

Merci bien !

P.S. : Tres beau boulot Orwell ! ;)

I'll try to translate it first:

Hello everyone,

Do you know the Game of Life, a cellular automaton from J. H. Conway?
Here is a useful link: http://en.wikipedia....'s_Game_of_Life

I saw a nice implementation of this program on a Ti-98+ calculator, and I was amazed that nobody had already tried to do the same on the ClassPad, since the fastness of the Lua language, the interface and the screen's size could offer some excellent conditions for it!

I tried myself several times to create such a program, but none of my project was really completed. (I must say that my programming skills aren't that good).
I need your help, do you think that such a program can be made on the ClassPad? Thanks a lot!

In fact I think that someone already thought about it, I can't remember who it was however
If I remember well there was a problem with the function "draw.pxltest" to implement the Game, but I think it has been solved now... This is the kind of program that we should be able to do with CPLua :)

I wanted to make this program...but I don't have a lot of time..and I'm always busy with others thing...Grayscales, timers...and now I've found how to use the buzzer and I make a library to make several sounds...
So I'll make a game of life...whan I'll have time...and in c++!!
Good luck!

See you later !

Life was made by Narmo, long time ago to test speed of Lua. He agreed to put it in File Sharing. I will do it as soon as possible.

I am working on it in C++... But it would need some speed optimizations with ASM...

Gaumerie... are you here????? :roflol:

PS:I like this game, this is very interesting. For the moment, in my program, a generation takes 1 second!!! Very slow! I'll try to add some optimizations... :)

I'm building the program with some members (included Gaumerie who could add some grayscales :D ) of my programming team CAPS (=Casio Application Programming Share). When it will be stable, I'll release the first version. ;)

The program works now and it is so fast that we will have to slow it down!

Hi,
the first version of the Game of Life can be downloaded on this website : CAPS Team website
It is just a demonstration version but you can already put cells on the screen, change the rule by clicking on the arrow at the top right of the screen,...

In the next version, you will be able to open and save pattern, to enter every rules you want, to zoom... ^_^

What is the Game of Life?

You must read the information at http://en.wikipedia....'s_Game_of_Life .

And please answer me: Is there any other place which I can download the game from? For some reason I cannot download it from the given web-site.

Good job Alexis. But please upload it to the file sharing of this site (look in the top of this webpage), its faster and more people could download it from there.
