FA-124 (download it at http://edu.casio.com/, it is available in the fx-9860G downloads section at least) should work if you switch it to CFX-9x50 mode (Tool -> Model Type -> ...). If that SB-87 cable is the USB cable (I don't know if that's the number for the USB or a serial cable) it might refuse to work - but I had no opportunity to test that because I never had such a cable, I only know of its existence.
On the other hand, if it's a serial cable, you obviously need a serial port, which is kinda getting rare nowadays. When I chose the motherboard for my home computer (with 64bit Win7 as well), I had to put lots of offers aside because the serial port was missing. When I got one eventually, the only problems with linking my fx-9750G Plus to it were the fault of my home-made serial cable.

My fx-9750GII was previously owned by my sister and she lost the link cable.

Anyone know where you can get one or the name of the cord?

According to me the connectivity cable has no designation.

I searched for "fx-9750G II usb cable".
