What i'm saying is, we can't have one great long faq with no headings in it.

what we need is a sub-forum for the faq that has all the topics seperated, in different threads.

If i have a link cable question, chances are i'll just post it to the bottom of the existing thread rather than read it all to find if my question is already answered.

merging them all was a BAD idea (something needed to be done, but what has been has only made matters worse)

Yes, I agree with both of you it's very tiresome and furstrating for someone to dig in there, and get what he wants.
So, I've got a good suggestion:
Someone (I mean rj since he raised this  ) should go ahead and make us a good document summarizing all the questions and answers in that post, and I promise it would be added, and I'll put it to my site.

Deal rj? B)

The current cable topic is temporary until the UCN page is uploaded, then there will be a link to a real FAQ (written by someone), the purpose of merging the topics and pinning them was to lessen the number of new topics posted on cables, I hate loging on only to find 3 more cable topics as much as Mohamed hates finding stupid posts... Besides, a poll was taken and this was what everyone decided.

Do you have an idea when the new UCN site will be uploaded?

I've made a decision to treat the FAQ as a archive since people seem to prefer to post new topics instead of replys, so therefore new posts about cables can be made, but after a period of inactivity they will be moved to the FAQ. Understand that you should still read the FAQ to see if your question has already been answered, after all the purpose of the FAQ was to lessen the number a cable posts not to save space.
