first, make sure it dosent have to run fast. second, be prepared to redo things over and over. third, you must decide if you want the game to be in text or graph mode (text for speed, graph for... graphics). fourth, don't over do it, this is your first program so don't make it to fancy, you'll just end up frustrating yourself.
I once heard a quote about how how after testing your game you should never want to look at it again, that should give you an idea of how much time people put into testing their games... (heck, I've been testing my RPG for 5 years

sometimes you will get a bug you just cant fix (

It shows that you don't give up. it sounds great. can't wait till you finish.
Luckily i didn't finish it for you when you suggested it to me, or you wouldn't have a game to submitt.
Good luck!
CrimsonCasio: How come Bob can submit a game he has already been working on previously?

I's a good that you have continued with your old project, Bob.
It shows that you don't give up. it sounds great. can't wait till you finish.

it might be a while before i finish, i have not completly abandoned the idea, but i will be working on the trogdor game and then after i finish that i might start working on it, i keep getting ideas how it would work, but it would still take a good while after i start it to finish it (unless somebody helped me)

BTW: Are you experienced in cfx programming?
How long have you had a cfx.
I'm just trying to get an idea of my competition.
PS. CrimsonCasio: I was just checking. rolleyes:

i've had my calc since only the start of this year.
Are you in Yr 11?
How are you finding the capabilities of the cfx 9850G?

I agree, CFX models rock!yes, i will be in year 11 at school and i find that the cfx kicks the crap out of the ti's

and they're easier to deal with since i've been using casio for a long time
(i used to use my dad's old fx120)

From what I heared TI's are a LOT better in comparrision to the CFX (the can handle ASM/C code!)

I completely agree, teachers in my school didn't even teach us how to use the CFX.yes, but how many of those kids in math class know how to use the ti's that are in the classroom? i can use them better than the teacher, the 83's and 86's might be able to do a few more things, but the casio's are so much easier to learn and use
we just learned by ourselves.
however, not many know how to program, only how to use it for math purposes. they don't use it to its full potential.
Many rely on me to supply them with games.

Casio BASIC on CFX is so magnificently simple, I can't understand any other form of programming. We aren't taught it in school, you just catch on. However, conventional programming is too slow and not powerful enough for the games we're making now.

About CFX BASIC programming, i agree that it's so simple. But i think it involves more creativity and ideas, as making a good game must be well thought out. Also you must be dedicated to programming. I picked it up quickly by programming in class at school. However my grades have been dropping ever since. I think i'll have to program less next year, as i don't want to stuff my TEE exams. Then i won't be able to go to uni and program more in lectures

BTW: Genesis this question was a bit off topic. What made you think of it?
