Games that are large in scope don't always have to be large in size on the calc. Especially if there is some random element involved with the levels or whatever that can constantly challege the player.

And about some of the posts earlier, I too was the only one in my school that had a casio calculator and I had to teach myself to program it in class. That was 9th grade for me, and now I'm in 15th grade! I feel so old here:)

Crimson: you may be dreading it, but from the descriptions, I'm looking foward to it!

trust me, nobody wants it done more than me, its just the process that is daunting... plus I still have to write the AI... It will get done, I've put way to much time into it to quit.

plus, the main thing I'm worryed about is running out of space.

i agree, dedication is needed when making long games.

I think i'm going begin a big project (game) for the CFX in a few weeks time, after i finish my exams (2 weeks) and when i come back from holiday (3 weeks after exams). I will then have 6 weeks of programming (school holiday).

yippie!

i wasnt the only one with casio graphic, but i was the only one who learned how to progrram it, then the others saw how usefull mu progs were and decided to try and learn, the usual phrase was:

"Andy, how do i...." or "Andy, why dosent this..."

it made me feel important :)

hahaha, I understand. It got to the point for me that because no one else had a casio and I could program mine, all my friends wanted to borrow my calc for Math tests, even though they had a TI 83 or 86. So eventually for my own sanity I learned TI BASIC and wrote a few programs for my friends.

The good thing about my school only allowing the CFX calc, is that everyone has the same calc (CFX-9850GB). Therefore i can create a game/program which then circulates around my year, and i get heaps of praise. lol. My programs are helping many that i know.
