I wanted to say: the bot doesn't grab messages sent by KVIRC or another client.
So you can only read with the widget what someone has sent with the widget.

I had to re-image my computer using last week backup but I couldn't do it until the evening and I ran into an issue with windows Dynamic Disks which are not properly managed by GNU/Linux based imaging technologies so I had to find a workaround... it was quite complicated and annoying.
Today it was my firewall that was preventing the bot from being contacted because my host changed something in their config apparently...

(Please forgive the odd formatting - it looks correct in the chatbox, but it doesn't seem to paste correctly.)
Firstly, the old instance of my client should have timed out between 21:02 and 21:04, which it doesn't do in this log. You can see that I'm able to change my nickname back to JosJuice even though that name would be in use according to the log. Secondly, it says "JosJuice1 has changed his name to JosJuice". Why? It's not gender neutral, and I haven't indicated my gender anywhere.

While looking at what happened yesterday in the chat, I noticed some oddities from when my IRC client disconnected around 21:00 because my internet connection was down.

That's because log outs/relogs from a user are suppressed from the history when no real message are posted while the user is disconected (this is to prevent spam from users with poor connections that would gradually replace all the messages).
Secondly, it says "JosJuice1 has changed his name to JosJuice". Why? It's not gender neutral, and I haven't indicated my gender anywhere.
This is hard coded in the Java bot' source code. (It's always 'his')

Because we have more male members than female, and because English isn't gender-neutral.

Fischbot is now online 24/7
Thanks to alberthrocks, fischbot now runs 24/7 on a VPS. It should be online all the time, if it isn't, let me know.
