Hmm, there is also a Physium addin available at casio's download site.

Its a small file, anyone :) has checked if it contains (hopefully) a bit executable code that turns a "Physium" feature on inside the OS, or the OS just looks at its header?

It is a pseudo-addin.
They took the .g1a physium add-in, did some byte-swapping, added a checksum (which the .g1a does not have) and that's it. The ClassPad OS checks the filename and the checksum and if it is correct, it executes the real physium code that is stored inside the OS. Thus, the physium "add-in" is not detected under ClassPad OS 1.00 and cannot "run".
The Algy 2 program is also a pseudo-addin.

g1a's can be ported to Classpad? Interesting...

Did you actually understand what I was talking about?

Casio did not port anything, they just took some file - in this case a .g1a add-in - obfuscated it a bit to confuse people, renamed it, added a checksum and that's it.

The ClassPad OS only reads the filename and the checksum and decides whether you have installed the physium program or not. All the other data is ignored.

So the Classpad comes with Physium embedded in the OS, and then having the addin enables it? Like the conversion addin on the PRIZM?

Thanks. It was obvious Physium is embedded. I wanted to know if the c2a contained real executable code or not.

So the Classpad comes with Physium embedded in the OS, and then having the addin enables it? Like the conversion addin on the PRIZM?

If I recall correctly, at least PRIZM's addins did contain code to execute (Conversion add-in), didn't they?

Not for the conversion addin. It just enabled the conversion menu, nothing else. The OS looks for the addin, if it isn't there it does not show the conversion menu.

Hi Guys,

The contributors to this thread seem to know about installing the Physium add-in to an fx-CP400 ClassPad II, so could you please have a look at my question and see if you can help me out?

http://community.cas...00-classpad-ii/

I'm wondering if perhaps there's some sort of difference between my calculator build (US version) and whatever builds you all have?

- Because by all rights, what I've done should have gotten Physium installed on my ClassPad II version 2.00.0000.0000, and it shouldn't be this damn difficult.

Thanks.

OS 2.00.1000 is available.

This new release was to solve at least one bug reported to Casio by me a few weeks ago.

I talked about this here!

Thanks for noticing! The bottom of the this page in casio's site says:

New (Version 2.00.2000): Software keyboard's usability improvement

There was a bug report about the keyboard, someone with the real calc might want to test if they solved that bug or actually changed keyboard layout.

That bug was solved in the previous version. At least I tried to replicate the bug after the update and it didn't occurred any more... Unless the bug corrected was the other one I've reported in the same thread you posted the link!!! But that one only after a few time using the keyboard I can tell If it is gone or not!

Hi Guys

I can't find the OS update in a Mac version - does anyone know if they have provided one, and if so, where can I download it?

There is still a bug related to the usage of the Pi symbol, the 50Hz frequency and the integrative operation!

If you try to calculate the integrative function of a sin (50*<Pi Symbol>*t) between 0.0018 and 0.09, for instance, the calculator takes for ever to return the result.

The problem looks like when the Pi symbol and the 50Hz frequency are used in simultaneous. If we replace the 50Hz by any other value, no matter if the Pi symbol is used or not, the result comes out quite fast. If we replace the Pi symbol for the approximate value of 3.14, no matter what the frequency is, the result also comes quite fast.

I've just updated the OS of my Fx-CP400 to  the latest version and the problem remains! :( Not very good for me that I need to make a lot of these kind of calculations!

Casio Education Australia says this:

"From June 2016, an OS update is available for the CP 400. It offers a fix for 2D Calculation, Med-Box, Touch Panel Alignment, Logistic Regression and CAS functionality. There is also a data update for Physium."

I cannot see any improvment in calculation! Mainly with integration, the calculator is slow! Too slow compared with Texas! Not sure why! The bug that I have reported a couple of months ago, still's there!

The bug is when you try to integrate a signal expresion, if the frequency og 50Hz is used at the same time with the"pi" symbol, the calculator won't return a result. It keeps calculating for ever! We need to break the operation! However, if we use 3.14 instead of the "pi" symbol orif we use another frequency value rather than 50Hz, using the "pi" symbol, it works! The problem seems to be we we use the "pi" symbol with the value of 50Hz.
