The forum database is only 8 Mbytes large... that's not so big!

If it's only 8 Mb large, I'm also able to put the UCF as it is now beside CasioCorner. No integration, no lost of messages, no lost of members, and so on. It will just stay as it is.
However I prefer the integration, I understand the opinion of Roeoender and the others. If the UCF will come to CasioCorner, they're on the same server, so some connections could be made (however it will stay as a stand-alone forum and a stand-alone community, apart from CasioCorner).

goodjob 2072, you did somethign wrong.  my host is complaining about how I crashed the cpu for a little bit.  Please dont transfer anythign from my server without my concent, and the total know how.  Its too late, but.. ok... dont do it again.. you fucked something up and I was blamed..i hate that

thanks,
simon

Well, I'm sorry :( I didn't think you could be blamed for that. I just use the backup option in the forum Admin CP.

You should tell your host to learn how to configure a server...

If I use too much cpu on my server, it just ends with a SERVER ERROR 500.

Ok, I think we should do as huhn suggested, but rather than PM simon just post here a detailed description of everything you can provide and what changes would happen to the forum. once your done someone will create such a poll since simon isn't around much and I know Mohamed wants to do this as fast as posible. Everyone who wants a chance at hosting POST NOW, you have 2 days max, probably less.

simon if you do show up we need to make sure you approve of the cadidates, perferably before the poll starts.

OK, I will start...
I offer two options:
- Integration with CasioCorner (has some advantages but the old db will probably be lost - however, we could preserve this forum and make it an archive-function)
- Hosted beside CasioCorner (no changes to the original forum, preserve of posts, members, etc., just as it is now - later maybe some connections between both but the forum will stay as a standalone forum & community)
Hosting:
Total traffic: 4 GB
Disk Quota: 75 mb
DB-Space: not qualified
When I mail to my hosting, I think they will give me more space/traffic if needed.

you need to put more than that, ex: monthly transfer, database space... anything you can think of.

Well,

- Unlimited traffic
- 100 Mb database
- ~150 Mb disk space left
- fast server, I've never had any trouble. Very good technical support.

- Stand-alone forum only (I won't create a front page, I personnaly think there is sufficient other sites about Casio).
- No change at all to the current forum (everything is already working as you can see)

I'm a very experienced PHP/HTML/JAVASCRIPT programmer which means I can create useful things for the forum (evolutions etc...), and Cross-server integration is possible (I've already done it on Graph100.com).

It probably sent a 500 error to everyone else trying to use it.

when you back up IPB via the Admin CP it dumps the mysql row by row into a text file (at least thats how it used to be done), and that is pretty time consuming. If you want to transfere the DB when the site is bigger you have to manually pull out the .db file from the server itself.

yep or you can use mysqldump if you have command line access which is a lot faster than any php solution.

- unlimited traffic
- 500mb webspace (200mb are avaiable for UCN)
- database unlimited
- PHP with ASP-Support

the userpages could stay (10MB per user), but MySQL isn't avaiable for userpages. propably it will, but you have to ask and i will see how many need one. the userpages will get their own subdomain and their own mailadress. the administartion of the usersites (upload) has to be done via a webinterface.

this will be my offer, if a friend says yes. (but i think he will say)

edit: the domain would cost me 5EUR per year.
