I hate those big images in signatures! It is awful to read threads, when like every second post has a signature two times as long as the post itself! What about removing all images from sigs and allowing only 3-4 lines of text in it?

Your opinions?

well, you do have a point, but i think you can live scrolling down a few extra lines to read the posts, and me and crimsons pictures are not that tall, so i dont see why you are complaining

I too think it's very annoying, but I have nothing to do against it.
The best thing in the Corvette Froum is that you could turn off sigs in your profile so you never see them.
Here you could only turn avatars off which I did.

well, I'm trying something a little experimental here, I've made my signature an iframe that links to a page on my site... its not as tall as it was, but now its wide. also if you scroll down in it you can read various anouncements about whatever. but if you dont have a browser that supports Iframes you just see a link to my site.

what do you think, is this good or sould I just reduce it back to just an image?

i prefered the image. having an iframe screws with the scroll wheel on my mouse. I HATE iframes.

the only suggestion i have (at the moment) is for crimson, it would be better if u preloaded the images in your iframe, as thwn i first moused over the image my computedr went into overdrive trying to display it smothly, with an image it hasnt loaded yet.

i prefered the image. having an iframe screws with the scroll wheel on my mouse. I HATE iframes.

do u dislike my site then? as that is done with an iframe......

I think these sigs are annonying. They are if you want sth. to express not to advertise your site with a banner
that is as large as possible. Be glas I'm no admin or I would turn images off in sigs since they have no use,
waste bandwidth, are big, and look really like cnn newsbar sometimes (I DONT WANT TO MENTION ANYONE, CRIMSON!)

Please stop those large sigs! It looks like a competition between bob and crimson.

lol, actually bob got me this picture. anyway, I said I'd make it smaller, I just wanted to test out the idea. (and I dont have time at the moment)

I do have one problem though I want to be able to keep the mouseover thing, but the only way I can do this is to keep the Iframe (i can make it as small as the pict though) since the board automatically turns html tags into its own tags, if anyone knows a way around this please tell me.

well make a smaller iframe and remove the scroll option because like it was said it's annoying when you use the wheel to scroll.

I am a bit old-fashioned too - more informative text and less pics.
As you can see they cause more anger ( :profanity: ) to their enemies then pleasure to their authors. :D
So I am for pure text sigs.
You can express artistically with avatars.
Roeoender.
BTW when I reply the sigs are gone.

i agree with Roeoender. In the past my sig was quite long. As the result of a number of members complaints, i was forced to shorten it. now i see the benefits of short sigs.

Firstly, more messages can be displayed on screen and secondly members can concentrate on the actual post.

I think all pics should be removed from sigs, unless they're really small.

Sorry about that angry writing style in the first post, but I was very tired and stuff.

I think that the images on CrimsonCasio's and someone else's sigs are not too big, but I'm afraid of that this forum will become unclear like many (American?) forums where everybody has 2-3 images in sigs and lots of text also.

Images are ok, if they are small and only 1 of them, and no text with it. Or just plain text for few lines.

This is just to keep this forum clean. no offense.

Yes it's good, but it looks like it's 20*10 pixels, it's unclear, and what is that black part at the right?

But anyway, the poll's results are clear, and we have two people already that would love Crimson and Bob for dinner.
So, I'll leave it till saturday then we'll see.

read on how to turn off viewing signatures in the post by bob vila, this will be the answer to people who dont want to see the big pictures. also, we are all going to reduce the size of our sigs, but images will still be allowed.

You know that turning sigs off is not the best solution (I would prefer option: "turn off big images of big cars" or atleast "turn big images in sigs off" ) because I sometimes do read all those stupid sigs
BTW. Aren't we talking about sigs in too many threads? It gots messy.
