    Hacked fx-9750GII-2 (9860GII OS)

Posted 24 February 2021 - 10:40 AM

Hi,

I've been trying some (user-made) add-ins on m calc, and some work, but most dont. my calculator is the last of the fx-9750 GII, with the os upgraded to 02.02.0201.

for example: the CAS add-in works fine, but symblolix returns an error message, saying Reboot;EXIT Initialize:EXE. the exe key does nothing, exit restarts the calc and also i can just press MENU to leave the add in. other add-ins display their first screen then freeze, so i have to press restart. finally, other add ins just make screen, then i have to restart.

anyone know what's the issue here and can i fix it?

I think you are using KhiCAS, am I right? Some KhiCAS functions are not very stable.
There are two processors that are used in the fx-9860 series. The sh3 in older models (power graphics) and the sh4 in newer models (power graphics 2) The machinecode stays mostly the same between both models, but the os has some changes like different syscalls and so on. Mostly it would hang if the keyboard is accessed since it has a different implementation in the os. You could look if there is an add-in version fitting to your processor or ask the dev. On Planet Casio there is also an add in converter for sh4.

The ERROR Message is not made by KhiCAS, it shows that the calculator os is in an unrecoverable state and it needs to be resetted. Leaving to menu is an option but that may lead to unpredictable behaviour. There are various things that result in this error, so you can't really find out the actual source.

fx-9750 GII, with the os upgraded to 02.02.0201.

Pay attention to the "1" at the end, your device has a newer CPU (SH4) and is not compatible with SH3 addins.
