Great site!

If I ever finish my site could you host it too? I need no subdomain since I have my own.

btw: turn directory listings off. I think it is better without!

thanks, sure I'll host you, as for directory listings I can turn them on and off for individual pages so who ever wants them on can have them on and vice versa. this host has lots of very nice features and I havent figgured out how to use all of them yet, it is also veeery fast.

along with hosting you also get (if you want them):
  • e-mail
  • FTP access
  • php and mysql
  • error pages (user defined)
  • chat room
  • message board
  • just about anything else you can think of :)

I will finish my website somewhen this week. It would be great if you could setup some webspace for me till firday or thursday!
The site itsself isn't large and i'll leave the zips on another server with ads so i'll probably need ~1MB.
Username doesn'T matter. maybe huhn_m?
I'll set up my domain as soon as everything is up and running.

Thank you a lot for the offer!

sure, I'll get to work on it.

mohamed, I'll also set up a account for you, both of you will recieve PMs when its ready.

anybody else who wants hosting speak up, I'm only using ~4mb with all the stuff I have on there already! B)

btw: you just need to tell me what you want and I'll install it for you, dont go overboard though. (also lets wait for things to settle down before messing with them)

I can give you: phpBB, Invision Power Board, phpNuke, phpMyChat, a truck load of counters, cgi scripts up the wazoo.

------EDIT-------

I think I'm going to require that everyone hosted on earthforge link to the UCF on the main page (or navbar) and that they have links to the other people I host in a section of the links page (or elsewhere if they want, I'm not going to be a stickler), that is seperated slightly from the other links (see my navbar, the partners section is what you should have some where on you site).

Thats Ok! I'll only need the webspace no CGI / SQL but maybe php in future.
Till now the site has 100KB with all images & scripts. (they are few :) )

I had quite a lot of time to day and wrote nearly the complete site!

I want to ask everyone who wants a link on my site to send me the adresse and an image (100x100 = highest!).
I will not provide descriptions but the name can be up to 50 chars.

Please PM me and don't post here since this would be off-topic. Thanks

anyone that wants a forum or some of the other scripts is going to have a tricky time dealing with things (unless i figgure out a better way), they will have to have a seperate FTP account since the forum can only be stored in a top level directory. I will also give them a seperate subdomain if they want it for anything requiring seperate installation (I may need to for FTP reasons anyway) the format will be name.yourname.earthforge.com or they can use earthforge.com/name which ever they prefer.

however, I've been thinking and I've decided to disallow forums except under special circumstances, the reasons being that I dont want to detract from the UCF, I already have a support forum up and running, and because they can take up to much space. After I figgure out how many people I'm hosting then I might allow a forum or two, but not just yet. As for the other stuff I will allow them to be used freely. (I think I'll experiment on casiokingdom again  )

I'm preparing a list of the features, will post when done.

I think its would be good not to alow anyone to have their own forum as a need to be hosted.
This will give more power to the UCF.

The site should have casio content right?
The forum was created to unite all older forums right?

So give me one good reason why anone should want (and get) a forum on his page??

@huhn: the webmaster of the FCC expressed intrest in being hosted, that would be an exception, he already has a established forum and would just be switching hosts (however I want to know how big it is)

Advanced GuestBook

FormMail Clone
FormMail-clone is a clone of Matt Wright's FormMail.

Entropy Search
Setup Search Engine
Rebuild Search Index

Entropy Banner
This feature allows you to create rotating banner ads for your site.

InvisionBoard
InvisionBoard is a web bulletin board system.

PHP-Nuke
PHP-Nuke is an advanced content management system.

osCommerce
osCommerce is an easy to use and configure shopping cart system.

PhpMyChat

Earthforge-wide chat

I don't want a forum anyway, only cool features.

I hope you find a way to add the programs.

If I am not wrong Cron Jobs are task done at a specific time or scheme you can set up.

E.g. backup server every first sunday a month at 12:00

It something like schedule in windows.

What is FCC? Never heared of it. Is it casio related?

After all you have to deceide what to do with your host! Its not my bussiness. It was justt a suggestion.

AND: Thanks for the account! Great you do this!

I think user input is important, besides I agree with you ;)

FCC is a french casio forum that is mostly for pre-AFX modles.

my server is backed up every day by my host, so thats not needed... mabey something else could be done with it...

@casiokingdom:

I suppose you know a bit about phpNuke being a mod at casiocorner, however you need to realize that if I install phpNuke on you account your current site will most likely be obliterated. thereforI will install phpNuke in another directory for now and you can have access to both, once you finish your nuke site you can replace your old one. is that good for you?

added a new "feature" you each now have a file called mysite.html in your top level directory, you can put anything you want in it and it will be shown on www.earthforge.com, I may also make a random partner script that will use those descriptions and have them appear on my page (you can use it to if you want).

(I'll touch up its looks a bit)

I can give you phpNuke, just make sure nothing is in the top level of your site. as for the database... I really dont know, try looking at the code in the phpNuke. I do know how to get the name of the database and create a new one so I can do that for you (phpNuke Creates one automatically though).

just PM me when your ready. (takes about 2.5 seconds to do)
