for how long earthforge is going to be up now?
If it isn't going to be up for long, then I'll need to start looking for a new host.

Btw. what if all the members with decent sites joined and bought a root server together?
We could share the costs. Root servers are available from 30€ a month in germay so if there were 10 people
each would have to pay 36€ a year what should be ok ...

About Epic Programming Studios we were starting wondering if it shouldnt be better to move somewhere else, because apparently most of the time some ppl cant even access the website at all and I noticed forums page execution time is over 0.12 seconds most of the time. Normally most forums loads at 0.01 or 0.02 seconds. Here is the topic about this:

Earthforge seems to be gone for good.
I'm currently looking into hosting solutions so maybe we'll have new hosting up sooner or later ...

I can't connect to either of them. I'm also unable to reach my site (mh-development.de) and the AlgebraFX site (both of them hosted at earthforge).
I also can't connect via FTP. A ping gives me the folowing:
Microsoft Windows XP [Version 5.1.2600] (C) Copyright 1985-2001 Microsoft Corp. C:\Dokumente und Einstellungen\huhn_m>ping www.earthforge.com Ping earthforge.com [72.9.244.226] mit 32 Bytes Daten: Connection timed out. Connection timed out. Connection timed out. Connection timed out. Ping-Statistik for 72.9.244.226: Packets: Sent = 4, Received = 0, Lost = 4 (100% Loss),
I'm not behind a proxy and have not changed anything before since when I could still connect.
It is also not caused by my notebook or windows since Gentoo <{GNULINUX}> on my main machine is also
unable to connect.
Anyways. Since we must face the end of earthforge in the next year anyways I just ordered a vServer that
is quite affordable. So all who want to switch from the earthforge host may do so if they contact me via PM.
I think I'll have the server for at least 5 years (because the price can not change if I don't terminate the contract).
The server should be ready by wednesday if I get to fax the contract today.

And I could Kill my DSL provider since they didn't even yet respond to my request!
And I can't execute ping on my vServer (Says I need root rights though I am root )
So I can only wait and see ... they are still not reachable from either of my computers.

oh and btw, hosting is offered here.
On my vServer. You get an SSH accout, an FTP account, up to 50MB of storage space, unlimited bandwidth (well, virtually, the whole server is restricted to 50GB but I will cut you down when it reaches 45GB in order to guarantee fast operation of my sites ). Unlimited POP3 accounts.
Server is apache, php4 is installed, mysql is installed but currently used by my wiki, don't know if others can access it.
Server is Debian <{GNULINUX}> 3.1 (sarge)
There is enlightenment installed for easy access using the X11 tunnel.
(I couldn't test it for now since I screwed up my ATI drivers on my main machine )
So if you want it ... go ahead! post here and / or PM me.
Operation is guaranteed for the next 5 years (though not necessarily on the same server ... I might upgrade later).
If you want your own IP you have to pay me 1Euro / Month (since this is what my host wants )

Since Earthforge will cease to exist after October, I've begun searching around for a new host. Does anyone
The Mohammed's site (algebrafx2.earthforge.com), will shut down???

Hi Betoe,Hi sean, long time no see you. If you find a nice and free webhosting, PM me please
What happenned to your http://betoe.imgoingtobed.com website? When did it stop working?
I will tell you whenever I find a good free host. I just can't find one yet.
Sadly yes. All earthforge sites will shut down. I still don't understand why Crimson suddenly disappeared from the 'Casio world'... after years of loyal serviceThe Mohammed's site (algebrafx2.earthforge.com), will shut down???
===EDIT===
http://110mb.com
mySQL, php4, 2000MB space, 10GB Bandwith, NO ADS.
I knew about this site a few months ago, but they added ads to member pages soon after. They have recently made the decision to never put ads on their sites again.

Imgoingbed isnt working since february of this year. Ross told me about some weeks before the server shutdown so i did a backup. But i dont know if he will set up the server again. I contacted him via ICQ but i had no see him in the last 3 weeks, since i have an internet connection again.
Hope that good earthforge sites (like Mohamed ones) could be hosted on huhn_m hosting.

I think all earthforge sites should consider moving host now so that they have time to leave a message on their current site, ie. "This website has moved to ..."
It will make sure that they don't lose all their visitors.
110mb seems like a great host. The admins are working very hard for members. I recently asked for .cat and .g1r files to be allowed, and they did in a day.

huhn_m, I've considered your offer, but your domain name is too long for my liking
hm ... I also own the domains mh-dev.com, mh-development.de/.net/.info/.com
you can choose freely where to put the redirection. No problem. But you must considder that I only have
1GB storage on the server and 50GB traffic / month. else it is no problem. If I got the money I might upgrade
to a 10GB storage with 500GB traffic but I don't know yet
Hope that good earthforge sites (like Mohamed ones) could be hosted on huhn_m hosting.
you are always welcome. You get ftp and ssh access. But I can (due to the storage limit of the vServer) only
allow casio related sites to be hosted. I won't check the site contents of course unless the use too much bandwidth or storage. Hosting on my servers is free for forum members and will always be (I should always be able to pay the ~40? / year the server costs atm.)
The only thing is, that if the traffic hits 45GB I might switch of sites for the rest of the month for the ones using the most traffic. Else 1GB would cost me 0,50? extra.
