well, with my host the MySQL databases are on a diffrent server than everything else, thats why when MySQL goes down everything else stays up, i think they just have problems with their MySQL server... probably they have too many databases on that server, and to fix it they would need to either split them up or improve that server. as ive said before the server earthforge is on is their fastest server besides the one that they host their own site on (wish we could get that one, it NEVER goes down <_< ). anyway, what you could do is find a free fourm hosting site and link it to your earthforge page, but you will probably have to deal with ads and a pretty slow connection.

also, just because of your connection and your location i think that causes more problems for you than most people experiance... :(

Hmm yeah now I understand more why this happens. I guess they use a slow server for SQL databases with low memory (maybe 8 MB of RAM). The other server is UBER fast and I saw it go down only 3 times so far
:D

hmm I dont think my connection and my location can cause pb since I can access websites located in belgium, france and australia very fast, I think it's the server that host the SQL databases. Also when the forum is down and I am talking for example do dysfunction on AIM he cant access it at all too. *hopes they will change them someday*

Serious problem: ftp doesnt work anymore. When I type ftp://ftp.earthforge.com in IE now it takes one minutes to load then ask me my password then it load again for one minutes and keep asking me my password everytime so I can't update my website anymore. Did you changed my password?

but it seems that everything went down again, will I have to reupload the files once it will be fixed?

Apparently some people can get to the forums like bram tant and dysfunction, but other like tr1p1ea and me cant. tr1p1ea told me that they might have blocked IPs from some locations, such as Canada (Qu?bec) and Australia, so this is no luck and I will have to leave EPS programming group if I cannot go on the website anymore :( :banghead:

LOL, apparently this could have been caused byt he fact that using a proxy show you as a new guest everytime you leave the forum and revisit it so basically if I leave the forum and revisit it a few seconds later many times in 15 minutes there will be like 15-20 guests online, altough I havent visited the forum at night, maybe 5 or 6 people went on the forum at that time using a proxy . That was just weird because yesterday we reached a record of 17 users online but I woke up in the morning and when I saw that we reached 36 Imwas like "uh  "

(I hate having to clean spyware everytime I visit earthforge sites using a proxy)

Another question: how long will the http://speedy.dnspro....com/~earthfor/ server will stay up? Because I have no more ftp access to upload to the new server. I would like to know because I could continue uploading Omnimaga files at the old server for the moment and you could replace my index.html file at http://omnimaga.earthforge.com with a redirection page that automatically redirect to http://speedy.dnspro...maga/index.html for me because I can access the old server fine. ;)

Crimson, has your hosting account expired?
Earthforge doesn't work anymore.

This domain is parked, pending renewal, or has expired.
Please contact the domain provider with questions.

===EDIT====
BTW, i like this fast edit feature.

I really hope it will be renewed, or at least just renew it for one year and warn everyone who is hosted with you to find a new host within that time.

If it goes away now this means that I'll have to find a new host and there arent much free hosts who would host 52.1 MB of hotlinked files avaliable from a website getting 15000+ hits per days, so this would means its the end of Omnimaga.

Also what will happen of Epic Programming Studio? And all those Casio websites? :(

at least give us some time to find new hosts :/

EDIT: for omnimaga it shouldnt be a big pb since it will probasbly go back to http://www.unitedti.org soon .

Please let us at least take our data!!!

I can offer hosting.
Unlimited Bandwidth, 500MB diskspace (total).
The thing is, that I can't afford to host this forever.

Everyone is willing to come to me at no cost BUT I would really like if you donated.
This thing costs 25 Euro for me a year so if there are like 20 sites everyone would just need to donate
1 euro ;) but noone is forced! However:

*I'll only buy the additional space (I have 100MB now) if there are enough sites.
*1 SQL database costs 90 Euro / year extra (!!!) so if anyone needs one then they must pay me for it. Sorry but I'm not rich.

My host features:

PHP
Subdomain (yourname.mh-development.de)

I just mailed them and asked how much additional ftp accounts are.

But it would be nice nonetheless if crimson continued. .. would save me some work ;)

if you could mail me the pages I could host important ones (like algebrafx page and so on immediately with my 100 MB account. But only the important ones please and no ftp access or similar things for now :( )

huhn_m: Thanks for the offer, but finding a host isn't a problem for me. The problem is that all the sites that link to my site are linking to http://ck.earthforge.com. Without earthforge, no on will find my site :(

Crimson, please consider renewing.

i got reply from my provider.

In addition to the extra memory every additional ftp account would cost 0,5 Euro per half year.
If anyone wants one you'd have to pay me this.
The hosting would still be free (except the plea for a donation if possible) but then you'd have to mail me updates :(

Maybe I'll look for another host ...
