Hello,

I am trying to connect my calculator to my computer so that I can download the programs that I've written on my calculator onto my computer. I downloaded the FA-124 program and installed the drivers. When I plug the calculator into the computer, I get a message on my screen that says "Select Connection Mode". I press F1 for DataTrans, and then my calclulator shows a message that says "Receiving..." Then, when I click the "Connect" button on the FA-124 program, it displays a message saying:

"A connection could not be established.

Either the calculator is not connected or the connected calculator is not in the data recieve standby mode."

I don't know if this info is needed, but the Casio program is FA-124 Ver.2.04 for Windows. I use Windows 10. The communication settings on the calculator are:

Cable Type: USB

Wakeup: On

Capture: Memory

Can anyone tell me how to fix this problem or what I should do differently to connect my computer to the calculator?

Thanks

I do not know what you are doing wrong, all steps seems to be OK.

I tried it with my 9860g slim with Windows 10 Pro x64 and no problem. I freshly installed the FA-124, during the installation warning windows has appeared (I suppose it was about drivers), I checked the box and the instalaltion continued and successfully finished. Maybe you can try different USB cable or port.

In the past I used this tutorial

Is your calculator recognized in the Device Manager? Does your USB cable actually have data lines? Very cheap USB charging cables have no data lines, only power lines.

I don't think that it is recognized in the Device Manger. How can I tell if the cable has data lines? For first cable that I used, the calculator didn't even realize that it was plugged in. The second one did. Do you have a suggestion for a specific cable that I could use?

What cable are you using? Is it a micro-USB? CAn you put a link to the usb cable that you are using.
