[QUOTE] How about a competition for useful programms?

i agree with andy, a comp on programs should be considered in the future.

I'm always coming up with new programs eg. science etc.

i have just created a prog that works out where a substance is souluble and gives the colour of the precipitate, if formed. its called precipitate colours and can be found on my site.

Hey hey guys don?t forget me, I want to participate too, I already start the new version and the first for the AFX calculator of my first BASIC game I already have make 3 versions for the CFX , but I never published then.

This new version will use all the ?abilities? and capacities of the AFX for graphic games, I will use one new technique to create images for BASIC programs, ( I think that?s is new I don?t know if anyone has ?invented? it too ).

Well anyway I have a few questions about this competition?..

Can I participate whit more than one BASIC game?

Those games will not be available for download during the competition?

So as for me I only can say good luck for all the participants of this unique and very cool competition.

Its great?s ideas like that and very cool guys present on this forum that?s making this forum great?..

The contestant shall only create ONE game not 2 nor 3, 4 is completely out of question...
The contestant shall keep his game secret till the end of the contest.

glad to see you participating Brazzucko, I hadn't seen you in a while and was getting worried you might miss your chance. anyway, now we have a good number of people participating (of course more are welcome), it seems that things are going to go smoothly.

A note about versions for diffrent calcs: I have a CFX, AFX, and Classpad, plus I can get my hands on an fx if needed. so there is no need to make a version for diffrent calc modles for judging purposes, I can run them all.

The contestant shall keep his game secret till the end of the contest.

Why do some of you want to give your game ideas away?
You're just helping your opposition.

Let's all keep them secret, so that the spirit of competition increases, as well as the suprise when the games are released after the comp.

BTW: Admin: please consider shortening the comp to max 2 months.

Although some of you had thought Borland Pascal compiled code could not be run on AFX, I have been writing nice pieces of code purely in Pascal since then.

Is Pascal language okay for the competition?

Leave aside the 4 hours a day on the UCF, to make room for game creation.

:D For me 3 or 4 mouths it?s a long time for BASIC games 2 mouths is enough, but if we have 3 or 4 mouths to make BASIC games, ( it?s only my opinion ) the BASIC participants have the ?obligation? to create good graphical games because we have very much time to do it?.

I used the best graphics quality possible in my BASIC game, and I?m sure that some other will do the same for that competition.

Anyway when I finish my program I have to wait to send it, it?s important that the judges indicate one date for the participants send they programs?..

good luck to all game programmers, as ive said b4 im a program programmer not a game programmer (if that makes any sence whatsoever)

good luck especially to all Casio Basic programmers!

hmm... at the beginning of the post, it said simple games are best.

Does that apply to this comp. (Imagine if I release Sprite before then, god, thats 1000% in originality, totally unheard of!!! But if I release Collapse, that's kind of like Tetris, except more 'CFX' friendly. Damn algori-thingies are so hard!!!)

I'm sorry if I haven't tried any games but is casiokingdom's games in text mode. The quickest and simplest RPG of all time would be Arthur by Sean Warren. It was the first of it's kind and EVERYONE started copying it. (I'm not sure about others by the same authour, or Medawar though)

thats what i used to do! (what else am i meant to do in a boring history lesson) but im at college now and my coarse is great so i only program in my spare time.

my problem with the games used to be they were too long, and took ages to type in, but i now have a link cable, though i am still a fan of small (Kb) games cos i need the space on my calc for other stuff :)
