some of you may find this handy: http://crimsoncasio.co.nr/test.php

Guess what?
Yep, I'd like to create a web page that would describe my programs.
This would put some order to various distributions as I am bored
with writing those plain text readme.txts.
Currently I've got at home a digital camera so I would put some realistic photos/video clips of the programs in action.
So I hope it wouldn't be yet another page about casio.
Well how about it?
Btw It would be called CalcDev (hope no one uses it yet)

I've got holidays now and although I should start looking for real work I just can't stand writing something for the calc.
PM with passwd has been sent.
Thanks a lot

Dear Valued Customer,
Account to be moved: earthforge.com
Account username: *****
Average hits to website during 1 month period: 382008
Plan name: L-Economy
Server name: venus
Your account has been selected to be copied/moved to a brand new server that is much more
powerful than the current server specifications. Due to your higher than normal resource usage,
we believe it will be beneficial for your site to be hosted on a server that has the capability,
redundancy and speed to cater to your high resource/bandwidth needs. You will notice significant
improvements in page loading, mysql database access times, reduced pop mail checking times and
much more!
Our new state-of-the-art server specifications are:
Dual Opteron 242 processors, 3GB DDR-RAM, Over 500GB of RAID-5 HD space, providing true
enterprise redundancy. All powered using DELL server class technology.
To prepare for the move, all you need to do is simply visit your domain registrar and change
*ONLY* the first primary DNS/nameserver setting on your domain. The first nameserver setting on
your current domain name should be modified to:
Primary Nameserver/DNS:
NS65.DNSPROTECT.COM
65.254.50.194
Do *NOT* modify your secondary nameserver/DNS. Just your primary.
Your account has already been scheduled and queued to be moved. We require you to update the DNS
within 72 hours. The move will take place this Wednesday 15, September, 2004 at 2AM (-5GMT).
Please have your primary nameserver ip changed as soon as possible. Once your new account is
setup, your new account details will be as follows:
--------------------
New Account Details
--------------------
New IP: 65.254.50.194
UserName/Login: ******
Password: *remains the same as your old password*
Your new site is accessible at: http://65.254.50.194/~earthfor/
New server name: SPEEDY
Document Root: /home/earthfor/
Services:
Control Panel: http://65.254.50.194/cpanel/
Webmail: http://65.254.50.194/webmail/
WHM: http://65.254.50.194:2086/
FTP: 65.254.50.194
Once your domain name starts resolving to the new server, you can replace the IP address with
your domain name.
--------------------
FAQ:
Q. What is required of me?
A. We require you to update your first and primary nameserver ip on the domain name shown in
this email address. Do not modify your secondary nameserver/dns ip address.
Q. Why just the first nameserver/dns ip?
A. By utilizing this method, we will prevent downtime. For ISPs that have the old IP cached,
visitors on these ISPs will be directed to the old site. For ISPs that have updated their DNS
cache, visitors will be visiting your site on the new server. Once the DNS cache table has been
updated across the globe, everyone will be directed to your new site. This method ensures that
at any point in time, your site will be accessible, thus preventing downtime.
Q. Will I lose any settings?
A. No, the tools we utilize will copy and replicate *everything* on your account. No settings or
data will be lost.
Q. When must I do this by?
A. We will be closing your old account within 30 days of this notice. Ensure you update your
*first* nameserver ip immediately. Do not change/modify your secondary nameserver settings/ip.
--------------------
IMPORTANT NOTE:
Your old account will remain on our old server for 30 days. After this period it will be
permanently removed from the old server. That is why it is *CRITICAL* that you update your first
nameserver/dns ip setting immediately. If you are unsure how to modify such details, please send
us your domain registrar login details (url, username, password) and our technical staff will
handle this for you. If have any questions, please let us know.
Thank you!

also if you have shortcuts to your site like www.crimsoncasio.co.nr you can use them to direct people to the new account via the IP address. also, i would like people to watch things and see if they thing things are really faster than they were before. (or at least not slower)

Does EarthForge have a down time for maintenance and if so, when is it?
I'm asking because occasionally I am unable to access my account, but it appears to happen periodically. I think it's usually on weekends.

genisis: no, no scheduled time. though if my host did take it down for something I suspect it would be durring normal working hours in austrialia since thats where they are located. you and kingdom should have the best and fasted connection to it though.

What do you suppose is meant by this:
An error occured while copying a file to the FTP Server. Make sure you have permission to put files on the server. Details: 200 TYPE is now 8-bit binary 200 PORT command successful 553 Disk full - please upload later
I don't think the server is full!
